Mean Mom?

Would it be mean to duct tape a binky in Reese's mouth? She has recently decided that she doesn't need decent naps. The last little while they've been about 40 minutes.... today, more like 20. AAAAAAHHHHHH! I feel like I can't do anything! I guess I have to take the next few days re-training her.Hopefully I can get her back to her nice 2 - 2 1/2 hour naps.
I did read last night that most babies do this around 4 months because of their increased activity. That makes sense, but she was doing so great. Her nice schedule is what finally motivated me to start exercising, now I get 10 minutes in, and she starts crying.

Oh well, what can you do?

Poor Reese!

Reese is now 4 months old, which as most of you probably know.... Vaccine time! She had her checkup on Tuesday, and weighs in at 13 lbs, 2 oz. She's in the 50% for weight (my biggest baby), 60% for height , and 45% for head. She had to have 3 shots, and she also recieved a newer Rotovirus vaccine by mouth. Well, since I've gone the vaccine route twice before, I kind of just sign the forms and let the nurse do her thing. When I got home I noticed that I hadn't recieved any information about the new vaccine. Later that evening Reese got the usual fever, but started crying a ton, and spitting up like crazy! She had a hard time sleeping that night, and continued her barfing and crying the next day. I finally hopped online and found that the FDA initially denied approval for the vaccine due to a large number of infants getting intestinal twisting. They decided to approve the vaccine, and stated that they would keep a close eye on it for the next 3 years. Yeah, that makes me feel confident! Luckily she was doing a bit better today. Next time I will be sure to ask a few questions, and do some homework. Also, a heads up to any other Mom's whose kids under 3 may get the vaccine... you can actually catch Roatvirus from your babies poop, after they get the vaccine. (Rotavirus causes severe diarreah, that can be harmful to infants. Most kids under 5 usually get it at some point, so they decided to create a vaccine for it).
Anyway, I learned my lesson. I'm just glad that Reese is gradually getting back to her normal self. I just have to keep an eye on the color of her spitup for the next 2 weeks.... fun stuff!!

Leave it to Ginny!

Yesterday, I was in Reese's room feeding her, and Ginny came in to read some of our baby books. She was reading a potty book that we bought when Tay was 1. Now I have read this book about 200 times between the 2 girls, as well as DJ. Ginny was casually looking at it, and looked at the above picture. She starts laughing and asks, "Why does that bear have his hands down her pants? Sick!!" I looked at the book, and about died laughing! Boy, to see things through Ginny's eyes! DJ and Taylor got a good laugh as well. DJ wondered how he had missed it all these years! Now I will never be able to look at that book the same way. Ginny certainly keeps things interesting in our house!

2 Things That Keep Me Running!

Well, I've been trying my hardest to continue running on my treadmill. I loathe running (maybe because I have asthma, and haven't gone to the Dr.), so it is a struggle for me to get down to the basement everyday. I recently found 2 things that help my workout; 1- A little Aerosmith blasting as loud as I can stand. I just have to get over some of the lovely lyrics and 2- Imagine that I am being chased by one of the Dark Seekers from "I am Legend". Holy crap those things are scary!! DJ and I are seriously considering buying another treadmill, taking turns dressing up like a Dark Seeker, and "chasing" eachother. We figured that doing that around the neighborhood would cause quite the stir. Whatever works, right?
Wouldn't it be nice if we could exercise our butts off, until we get to our ideal size, then be done with it? I realized that this will have to be a life long habit, so I better get used to it! I do feel pretty great after exercising, so I just need to remember that feeling every morning.
I was talking to some friends last week after Enrichment, and we were discussing how nice it would be to go "natural", and have society be okay with that. We decided that we would all be scary, fat, and hairy! At least technology has gotten so advanced these days... sure the pioneers were skinny just from doing daily chores, but they didn't have laser hair removal. I guess that hairy women just had to be hairy! My poor girls are going to have to get laser hair removal for their 12th birthdays. I can't afford to buy razors and shaving cream for 4 of us!! (I wonder how old you have to be to get zapped)?
Oh the struggles of being a woman! Here's the million $ question.... would you rather be a man or a woman?

Taylor or Reese?

Can you tell which baby this is? Tay or Reese? (Don't cheat by looking at the amount of hair DJ has)! Can you believe how much they look alike? Freaky!!
In case you were wondering.... yes DJ is stoned! I want to get some of what he's on! Also, I had to scan the picture in, that's why it sucks!
Enjoy!

Just call me Chuck!

You can all call me Chuck Norris now. I exercised on my 10 year old Total Gym 1000 this morning. The whole time I kept thinking about Chuck Norris, and how smokin hot he is! (Gag)! I actually love the Total Gym, but I probably won't be able to lift Reese up tomorrow. I will keep you posted. When Chuck and Christie Brinkley used to do those infomercials, he claimed that he had 2 in his home gym, and kept one on the set of "Walker, Texas Ranger". I wonder if he still uses his. Man I sure do miss that show. I know that my Grandpa Gil never missed an episode. (Go Grandpa)!

It's pretty sad when you have a basement full of workout gear, that needs to have 3 inches of dust cleaned off of it before it is usable. Oh well, I got a bit of exercise in while cleaning it all!

A 2 Car Family Again! Yeah!!

Well, we finally decided that one car was not working for our family, so we decided to head on over to Carmax, and make a new purchase! Do you like it? I'm pretty excited! It's nice to be able to fit all 3 car seats comfortably across the middle, and still have extra seats in back. Now I just hope that we can pay for the thing!! :) It's a 2007 GL450, and with DJ's discount, we were able to save about $9000. Not too bad!

Okay Nat, I know how much you would love to own a Mercedes, so don't get too green with envy! We actually ended up buying a 2007 Nissan Quest. Yes, you heard me right... a minivan. I didn't think that I would see the day that we would own one, but I LOVE it!! It has so much room! We thought that we were going to get an Armada, but changed our minds after testing it out for awhile. We put the car seats in one, and I had to hoist Ginny 5 feet into the air. Then doing the same with a baby carrier was not that fun. In the end, we figured that the minivan was very convenient, and we saved about $13,000. (That doesn't include insurance and gas savings)!! I am a pretty happy camper! I guess I can now call myself a true stay at home Mom .... next stop, high waisted jeans.
