Hey Chancho, Can I Borrow Your Sweats?

I never thought the day would come, that one of my girls would choose comfort over style.

Last night, Ginny was getting ready for bed. She was struggling to get her super cute, and stylish skinny jeans off. She got really frustrated and asked me why I had to buy those kinds of clothes. She told me that she only likes "soft" clothes. I then asked what she meant by soft, and she annoyingly replied, "You know, like sweats! I wish that you would just buy me all of the sweats from the store, so that I could wear them everyday!" (Gasp)!

What's next, character shoes with blinking lights? (I know that kids love them, but I can't get myself to give into those)!

Well, I guess I could save a ton of money by purchasing all sweats. Heck, maybe the whole family should make the switch... just as long as they have elastic at the ankles! (Just picture DJ sporting a pair, that's enough to make me laugh)!!

That reminds me... several years back, my Dad had been going to the gym regularly. He of course needed some gym clothes, so he took an old pair of sweats, and cut them off. We tried telling him that he was cutting them too short, but of couse he wouldn't listen to his "know it all" kids. They ended up being TOTAL daisy dukes, it was hilarious! What I wouldn't give for a photo of that! I hope that image also makes you smile!!

Innocent No More.....

Well, the dreaded day finally came. That's right folks, "The Talk" with my oldest. It's been a long time coming. She has gotten little bits of info here and there (thanks to some lovely pad and tampon commercials), but the flood gates were finally opened the other night. She had just gotten a Beagle stuffed animal, and was wondering if there was such thing as a Beagle, Lab mix. I told her that the 2 breeds would have to mate in order for that to happen. Next came the question, "What do you mean mate?" Well, the rest is all history. The only thing that could escape her poor mouth was, "Ew, ew, ew!" Tay and I had taken the baby out to the car, while DJ and Ginny payed the bill at Chili's. When they got out to the car, Taylor just blushed, and couldn't look at DJ for a while.

I'm just glad that the whole thing is finally over! It wasn't as funny as Nat's talk with Sarah, but it was pretty good! I told Tay that my job is now over, because she gets to teach her little sister's when they are a little older. (Although it wouldn't surprise me if Ginny already knew... she is such a perv)!

Spoke Too Soon!

Just recently I was telling DJ how much I love January, February, and March. The reason I love these months so much, is because there aren't any big holidays or events that eat up my time. I love being able to actually get things done that I want to do. Well, I definatley spoke too soon. Over night, I suddenly have all of these extra projects:

-Valentine Boxes for the girls

- Tay's school party

-Science Project, due in 2 weeks. Now normally you would think, "2nd grade, what's the big deal?" Well, Taylor has no ordinary class. Last year there was one project done on different freezing points, and molecule blah, blah, blah.(That kid is Asian, enough said). Needless to say, the pressure is on.

- Relief Society Birthday Dinner. I get to be in charge of the program, posters, nursery, and part of the food. (I actually don't mind this calling though).

- Service Project for my Activity Day girls

- I get to help Tay come up with a "trade". Her class is doing an experienced - based study on the economic system. They get to create their own community, government, and economic system. They have to earn salaries as civil servants and in private ventures. I have to help Taylor come up with a business venture, gather materials, and come up with a business. She will then have an opportunity to sell her product, and earn class money. The tricky part is that we can only spend $5, and Taylor has to pay me back with her school money. (Nothing is free, right)? After this, I'm thinking that she'll be responsible enough to earn her own living, and pay rent, right?

- Taylor is expected to have all of her multiplication facts memorized soon. They don't do them at school, so it all has to be done at home, before they move on to division. ( Luckily her teacher is EXTREMELY organized, so I know everything that has to be done for the week, on Monday's).

- Last, but not least, I have to have PRK surgery on my eyes again, in a couple of weeks. That means no driving for at least a week, and I have to keep my eyes closed as much as possible for at least 2 days. It will be worth it though, since my vision has been pretty crappy lately.

Oh yah, DJ will probably be going to Virginia for 2 weeks soon, as well.

Anyway, sorry to bore you all.... I'm just venting!

What am I doing wasting time on the computer? I better get to work!

For those of you who are not Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus fans, GNO stands for Girls Night Out. When you have 3 girls, you end up listening , and memorizing many Disney songs while running errands in the car!

I finally caved, and took the girls to see Hannah Montana in 3D. Taylor actually saw it last weekend for her friends birthday party, but I took her again because I thought that it would be fun to see it with both the girls. Well, $45 later..... ouch!

It actually was REALLY fun!! I liked it better than a real concert. We went right after Tay got out of school on early day, so there were only about 12 other people in the theater. They did a great job of making you feel like you were at the real thing.

Some of you already know this, but when tickets for the real concert went on sale, I hopped on line to check it out. I actually had 2 seats reserved, and I had 10 minutes to confirm the purchase. For just Tay and I to go, It was going to run us $100 ( that's not even for the best seats)! We had decided that Taylor could go for her birthday, but then she wouldn't get anything else. Since the concert was in late October, and her birthday is in mid December, I worried that the novelty would have worn by then, and she would have been bummed about not getting any presents to open. After a minute of thinking, I was kind of sick about spending that much money for one silly night (even though we payed $150 for U2 tickets 2 years ago). Anyway, I called Taylor in, and told her that even if I had a butt load of money, I just didn't think that it was worth it. Luckily, the DJ part of her brain agreed, and we gave up the tickets. Well, imagine the shock when a few days later, the news is freaking out about how many hundreds of dollars the tickets were selling for on Ebay! They actually ended up adding a 2nd show. (Tay was bummed because she would have sold her tickets, and used the money for college and a Wii.... again, the DJ part of her brain)!

Well, when all is said and done, we had a really fun time. It was still pretty pricey, but at least we didn't have to buy Reese a ticket. (She had to tag along too, but then I felt bad about how loud it was, so I stuffed tissues in her ears).

A little side note: I bought Taylor the least ghetto Hannah T-shirt at Walmart a few weeks ago. It only cost me $6.50, and it's her favorite shirt! Heck, screw the Gap... Tay's getting Walmart apparel from now on! (okay probably not, but I'm glad she likes the shirt)!

In My Defense!

I knew that someone would give me crap about the helmet thing!!
Just let me say this...
Taylor's neurologist said that a bad bump on the head could jump start epilepsy, therefore, helmets are crucial.
Ginny's neurosurgeon said that with her excess fluid on the brain, a bad bump could jump start Hydrocephalous. He said that that is probably what happened to Ryan.
So there!!!

Enjoying All Of The White Stuff!!

We decided to make the most of all the snow, so we took the girls sledding!! We were able to find a big hill that had a parking lot at the top of it, so we left the sleeping babe in the warm car, and enjoyed ourselves! It was so much fun!! We were shocked that we were the only ones there, and that there were hardly any sled tracks there. I guess now days all of the spoiled kids either stay inside playing their fancy video games, or they go snowboarding. DJ and I were talking about how often we used to sled when we were kids. DJ had a bunch of hills by his house, so he said that they would go almost everyday that there was snow on the ground. Oh well, at least we got the hill to ourselves. I got quite the workout pulling Ginny back up the hill though. The snow was so deep I about got winded after 3 steps! Taylor couldn't get enough of it though. We were SHOCKED when she just hopped on the tube and took off. She is normally so cautious about everything, I was sure that one of us would have to ride down with her. The best part was when I finally got up the nerve to let Tay and Ginny go down together. Not long after taking off, the sled turned around backwards. Tay was screaming, and Ginny's scared little face was priceless. It was too bad that I didn't get a picture of that! Once they got to the bottom of the hill, they realized that they were okay, and that it was actually pretty fun! We had to promise the girls that we would go again soon. ( I personally like the picture of DJ)!

Next adventure.... snow castle. The girls roped me into promising that I would help them build a castle after school today. We'll see how that goes. (I wonder what the chances are that they will forget my promise)?

Holy Snow Storm Batman!

Wow and Owww!!

That is all that I can say about the most recent storm. We woke up this morning to about a foot or more of new snow. We are running out of places to pile the stuff. It's illegal to put it out in the road, so you get to a point where you have to carry each shovel full to a new dumping point in the yard. It was DJ's week to go to church with the girls, but they skipped out since Ginny has strep. Our neighbor later informed us that they sent everyone home after Sacrament Meeting anyway. The crazy thing is that my parent's hardly had any snow, and they flew in from California today to a dry airport! No snow there!!

I never thought that I would miss having a 2 car garage... until having to shovel a 3 car driveway!! Luckily our next door neighbor came over and did half of our driveway with his snow blower. I'm still going to be sore tomorrow! The weather report is predicting another 2-4 inches overnight. I guess that I know what my exercise routine will include tomorrow!!

Hopefully the roads won't be too bad in the morning. I have to take Ginny to the Dr for a strep test. She woke up with a slight fever, a rash, and she said that her oranges were scratchy on her throat! Poor kid.

Yummy Rice Cereal! (?)

We started Reese on cereal today. We decided to do it on a day when everyone was home... so Sunday it was! We all gathered around with the video camera, expecting a big reaction. Nahh... she couldn't have cared less. She would swallow a little here and there, and of course spit out the rest. The funny thing was that she didn't even react. No funny faces or anything! We are quickly learning that Reese has a "Take it or leave it" attitude. We can't even get her to laugh. She will chuckle here and there, but that's it. She is too funny!

Also, a little side note: She's back on schedule... Hallelujah! She actually took a 2 hr nap this morning, and a 3 hr nap this afternoon. In a bit she'll be ready for nap 3. Yeahh!!!
