6 Months Old

We made it to the half year mark! It seriously goes by so quickly!

I have loved almost every minute of her life ( I don't do too well trying to nurse, so that was not enjoyable. I also had a hard time at the 2 week point when she didn't want to take naps. Other than that, Wonderful)!!

Reese now weighs 15 pounds, 3 ounces (40%). She is in the 80% for height, and 60% for head. Ginny weighed about the same at this age, but Tay was only 13 1/2 pounds. It's funny how all 3 girls have been close to the same size. They all weighed within 4 ounces of eachother at birth.

Reese is definatley my strongest baby yet! She can sit up with little help (if only for a bit). I'm sure that she will be sitting up within a couple of weeks though. She also tries to push herself around the floor.... it is so funny!

She LOVES getting out! We take her outside, and she freaks out with excitement. She also loves watching people. So far the only people that she seems to be afraid of are Granny and Bomps! She cried at Grandma Ginger a couple of weeks ago, but loved her at Easter dinner. Hopefully she stays friendly, it is very frustrating when a baby hates everyone but Mom. (Maybe beacuse Mom never gets a break)!!

I'm looking forward to the next 6 months. It is so fun to see babies start to crawl and walk... I can't wait!!

A New Trick...

As most of you probably know, when you start feeding your baby solids, it can screw up their eating schedule. You never know if you have given them enough, and when they will get hungry next. Apparently Reese has found a way to let me know when she is hungry. Instead of just getting fussy or crying, she looks right at me and opens her mouth as wide as she can. She just sits there that way for a few seconds, then waits. If I don't start fixing her food, or feeding her, then she does it again. She will do this a few times, and then will fuss if I don't react. It is the FUNNIEST thing! It is really coming in handy lately. We have tested her over the last few days, to make sure that she knows what she is actually doing. 100% of the time, she is hungry. I love it!!
This is a picture of her after eating some squash... she loved it. For some reason her hair looks red, but it really isn't. She does seem to be getting some funky curls though. Not the cute soft curls, but some wavy crazy ones.... poor thing. She has DJ's exact hair growth pattern, except without the receding part of course. Let's just hope that she doesn't end up with a crazy, wirey mullett at a later point in time! (I'll have to post some old school pictures of DJ's one of these days.... good laughs)!!

Bounce Zone

DJ and I took the girls to The Bounce Zone the other day. They had so much fun! Taylor had been there for her friends party, but had been too scared to go down some of the slides. Then Ginny went there for her cousin Natalie's party, and went down everything. Of course Taylor didn't want to be outdone by a 3 year old, so she made herself go on everything. She figured out that it really wasn't scary, and had so much fun. I don't know if adults are supposed to go, but I got in on the action as well. I figure that there are a ton of fat little kids that outweigh me, so I enjoyed myself too. The baby just sat in her carrier and napped.
We had a fun time, and it was cheaper than going to a movie. We asked Ginny if she would rather go to Disneyland, or the Bounce Zone, and she couldn't decide. I guess we can scrap future vacations, and just take the kids to cheap little attractions... Cha-Ching!!

Happy Birthday Sam!!

Since Sam is basically my brother, I figured I would give him a nice Happy 32nd Birthday shout out!! (Dang you're getting old)!

Now if I remember correctly... my Mom made an awesome He-Man cake for Sam and Chris (the little boy we babysat). It was the Castle Greyskull, with the little figures. It seems like it had a moat, and that green coconut for grass. I think that she made it for a Cub Scout bake sale, then bought it back herself. I could be wrong, but it seems like I remember Sam and Chris blowing out candles on the thing!

Anyway, have a fun Birthday. Hopefully that new little baby isn't keeping you up too much. (Hey atleast you get to have the week off)!!

Happy Birthday!

My Personality...

Well, I took the same test as Eden, and here are my results. I especially like the fact that my femininity is low, and my masculinity is high. That made me laugh, because it's totally true about my personality. I don't have much empathy, or patience for people... oh well. At least DJ's kind heart balances me out. He said that he's afraid to take it because it might show his femininity really high. I kind of wear the pants aroung here.

My personalDNA Report

Enjoy!

An Intervention....

I need your help! It appears that we need to stage an intervention for DJ. He has a recent addiction that he can't seem to break.
It all started last month. We purchased Webkinz for the girls for Valentine's day. For those of you who are not familiar, they are stuffed animals that come with a special code. You then go online, and enter this code to adopt your pet in the Webkinz world. Once you adopt your pet, you have access to play games that can earn you Kinzcash. With this fake money, you can buy and decorate an entire home for your pet, and buy all sorts of cool things in this online world.
DJ helped Taylor get started, and it was all downhill from there. He loves playing games to earn tons of cash "for Taylor". He has spent multiple nights staying up until midnight, playing games. I finally have to tell him to shut it off and go to bed. Taylor awakens every morning to a large sum of Kinzcash in her account.
Taylor has been able to purchase a house with all sorts of furniture, including a Plasma TV and leather sofa. She also has a large yard with a pool, barbecue grill, pond, and garden. She is having a blast blowing all of her newly acquired cash. (I'm sure that she's learning some wonderful lessons in money management).
So basically, DJ has a problem that he needs help with.... pray for him please!

Help Me Mom!!

I guess that a nice Mom would stop to help her poor big headed kid take her shirt off. Instead, I grabbed the camera and laughed until my stomache hurt!! It probably took her a full minute to get the dang thing off. When she was finished she yelled, "Stop buying me these little shirts!!" Too bad she doesn't know that the shirts are not the problem.
Nat, I'm sure that this is a daily problem in your house. Maybe if I go along with Ginny's idea, and buy her all sweats, we could avoid this problem in the future. Sweats are probably a little stretchier. If not, there's always the zip up tops. For now, I'll just laugh until it hurts, every night when it's jammie time!
